Anton Soprano, Slovenia K 100 with RT fairing & stereo, Halle 5 1985. Just working on it to start enjoying this and many further seasons. I needed a bit more comfort and luggage space for my Lady, and since I have never forgoten the unusual K-series, I am glad to have found one for sale over here.

George G. Bornen, Australia This is a pic of my bike, an 84 K100RS converted to a Standard due to back injury. It has many accessories, 26,000mls; it goes like a train and I love it !

Laurent Buzzi, France My contribution is my K100RS year 1985. It has run 37,000mls. I own it since a little more than one year and it's a pleasure to ride it. Thanks to an efficient design, it's really easy to do the standard maintenance and even some major operations. I think I'll keep this bike for a long time.

Roberto Poivin, Guatemala This is a picture of my 1986 K100. It has auxiliary lights (BMW originals) and enginge guards. I´m thinking of putting back the windshield. It has 32,000mls on it and runs great.

Barry McWilliams, Northern Ireland This is my '93 K75S, I bought in October of 2003. It has 26,000 miles on the clock. It came with a Metzeler ME660 back tyre and a Bridgestone Battlax front, not bad, but I think the Metzeler is better. The bike is missing the offside pannier unfortunately (if anyone has one, or a pair, to sell I'd love to hear about it!) What a bike, so different from the Kawasaki Scorpion I had before. A confidence-building bike, winter without ABS would be unthinkable now !

Wolfgang Kreuzbusch, Germany This is my `92 K75. I purchased it in July, 2002 with 5,400mls. I guess I made no mistake, I rode Guzzis all the time and had to fix a lot. Now, in November, 2003, the clock reads 15,800mls and I am totally satisfied. I retrofitted hard bags, a top case and the wind shield, very useful parts in my opinion.

Roland Krause, Germany K75 `93, bought in 2001, since this time the bike made 15,400 mls without problems, the best bike I ever had ! Actual mileage 43,200 and counting. Next modification: grey standard seat and frame covers.

Frank Enser, Germany K 100 RS, the first special edition from 1986. I own the bike since 1992, it has been left for five years (!) in a barn after only one year on the road. No problems by now, only normal maintenance. Actual mileage 49,000.

Peter Breitenbach, Switzerland I´m riding bikes with sidecars for ages. The kids grew up and have their own interests, so I sold my Honda ST1100 with GT2 sidecar to a family with two children in order to get a smaller sidecar. Now I´ve got a `85 K100 RS. The modification has been made by Urech EML in 1992. The bike runs well, it has got a 4-ratio-gearbox with reverse gear. With this transmission ratio, the Vmax is about 100 mph. I like this bike as the combination with the EML Midi sidecar has a fine relation between weight and power.

Kurt Hofmann, Germany My K100RS is a `88 model, I am the first owner. Mileage is 33,000. Extras are Baumeister footrest assembly, special painting, special seat, PVM wheels, Sebring racing exhaust, WP rear suspension, WUEDO handle bar (slightly higher), modified black box, K&N air filter, and increased compression. I won´t sell the bike as there is no better one.

Chris Chapman, England. Here is my 1986 BMW K100RS. It has done over 68,000 miles. Since buying it last year I've had to fix plenty of faults, such as intermitent speedometer, wornout bevelbox and the alternator. The machine has had five previous owners that didn't care for the bike too well! Now it has come to the right home because I love it. I've added an engine spoiler, voltmeter and Krauser panniers. The bike rides very well with Conti tyres and on any petrol. It is fast for an old nail, and recently won the prize for best 80s bike in the Capesthorn Hall Classic Car and Bike show.

Horst Achatz, Germany this is my entry to the gallery: my K100 LT with EZS sidecar. Thank you for your engagement at flyingbrick.de !

Norbert König, Germany I bought my RS in February, 2002. The painting was renewed by my collegue Sebastian last winter. First registration was 05/85, the mileage is 23,000mls. Except some minor problems the bike runs great.

Axel Woske , Germany My `87 K100 RS , special edition RS STYLE with many black coloured parts and sports suspension (fork stabilizer etc.) plus a Koni rear shock absorber which was added by myself. I bought the bike six years ago from a BMW pensioner who had some health problems (i.e. seat height). Just for the fun of it, I added four more analogue instruments: oil pressure, oil temperature, volt and ampere, all additional to the water temperature and fuel gauge instruments. After the 2003 meeting at the “Eisenberg”, the clock reads 36,000mls. I really enjoy the bike, so my wife use to call it her “competitor” ;-)

Kyle Elliott, Arizona / U.S.A. Picked up this basketcase of a bike, 1986 model, in late 2002, it had been parked at 30,000 miles 12 years ago (got it for a steal and had to pick it up in boxes in North Carolina). Got it running in Feb. 2003, and haven't hardly stopped since then ( except lately here in Phoenix, AZ. USA it's been above 110 degrees Fahrenheit, way too hot to ride). The bike is a strong runner and so far has not let me down. Looking forward to many more fun rides, we mostly get to ride here year-round (300 plus days)!

Henri, Netherlands K100RS 36,000mls from Holland Eindhoven

Patrick Loomans, Belgium I´d like to add my `89 K100/2 to the gallery. I bought the bike in 1993 with 23,000mls, now (August, 2003) the clock reads 76,000mls. The shaft drive was replaced at 58,000mls. BMW sports foot rest system, Motad exhaust, K1 handle bar and White Power suspension at front and rear. For holidays, I add a windscreen and hard bags. I guess I´ll keep this bike for ever. Weitere Bilder auf http://groups.msn.com/2wheelsgood/bmw.msnw

Harald Hürth, Germany In 2002, I bought a `85 K100 RT with 60,000mls in a very bad condition. But, regarding this bike, even an expensive restauration is worth-while. Thanks to the BMW riders who told me about flyingbrick.de and gave me helpful hints. Haralds homepage can be found at http://www.huerth.de.vu

Niels Hoffmann, Germany This is my `93 K75. The bike made it easy for me to start after I´ve made my license. The “Flying brick” webpage was very helpful, thanks a lot !

Erich Hummelbrunner, Germany Hi, K-Riders, now I´ve got a `94 K 1100 RS, 31,000mls. I rode R1100RT, K1200RS, K1100LT/SE, K100RT, all of these were fine bikes, but the 1100 RS is best of all, as it is easy to handle and very comfortable (I replaced the handlebar with the “basic” type which is a little higher). I have had no problems by now except with the front fork seals, but I judge this to be normal wearage. I founded a small motorcycle club in 1993, the MC Furtfahrer, with 15 members.

Frank Nolte, Germany K 1100 RS : modified (shortened) frame, self-made seat cover, polished K1200 wheels, K75 engine spoiler and cooler cover, Gilera headlight and other modifications. I own this bike since 1996 and rode it 36,400mls.

Geert Diels, Belgium A BMW K100RS from 1986, with 104.000 km on the clock. I only bought it in 2002, after I had a K75C for about 1 year. The K75C was my first bike, but this K100RS is much better condition : A special feature: the powder coated engine block! Geert's BMW website can be found at: http://users.skynet.be/BMW_K100/index.html

Dirk Mueller, Germany In July, 2001, I bought my K100 with 10,500mls. It is a `84 model, equipped with hard bags, windscreen and an alternative handle bar. I replaced the seat by a comfort seat, so I had to replace the rear cover as well by a similar part with integrated handles. By now, the bike runs great without any breakdown.

Astrid Stoltenberg, Germany I purchased this K100 Mk II in May, 2002. It was registered in 1989, the mileage was 12,500. This is a model for Switzerland with “only” 78hp. There were only 1322 MK II built by BMW; only one third with ABS. Hard bags and windscreen were already fitted to the bike. I am owner no. three and most hopefully the last one -I´ll keep this bike forever...

Matthias Weber, Germany I bought my K100RS 16V 1993 from the second owner with 21,600mls. Making trips even to Portugal, I`ve made another 40,000mls, now the mileage is 61,400. I had to replace a valve spring at 43,200mls and the shaft drive at 52,500mls. The painting was pearl white first but the bike has been repainted "dragongreen metallic" after it has been dropped by somebody else. The seat was originally blue, now I replaced the seat cover by a black one. I´m looking forward to meet other riders in the vicinity of ZIP code area 91550.

Hugh Moore, Ireland K75 RT which I bought 3 years ago. It was manufactured in 1991 but only had 20,000 miles on the clock. I'm the third owner and I've added another 5000. This is my first BMW and I must say I really like it. I've made a couple of long trips and it's really comfortable to ride for a long time. I'm planning to take it home for a visit in the summer of 2003 with a trip to the Schwarzwald. I hope to be riding it for many years to come !

Baumi, Austria K100 LT, 30,900mls, formerly gold metallic, but repainted blue metallic by a friend of mine. Hard bags, top case, radio and Baehr Verso intercom, 12V socket, grip heat, crash bars. This is already my K no. four and a very early LT which was registered as a “RT” in Austria (but the frame no. shows it´s a LT !). I had a short intermezzo with a japanese chopper and a Honda Pan European but went back to the roots now.

Thomas Eulenstein, Germany K 75 `87, 25,000mls, hasn´t been used for years, I rebuild it five years ago when it had done less than 12,000mls. I made some modifications , the bike isn´t finally ready but I´m working on it. All modifications are legal. I´ve got plenty of fun with the bike due to its short gear ratio. By now, no repairs were necessary.

Detlev Seeger, Germany Red bike: K100 Basic `85, rebuild as a Hartmann sidecar and Pichler Uni4-fairing, formerly with a ST sidecar, from 1990 on equipped with Carell Shoo. The mileage reads 166,000mls.
Yellow bike: K100 RT `85, I purchased it with 55,000mls when it was destroyed by fire in 1997. Rebuild with used parts that I had in store from previous bikes and a sports side car. Since then, I rode another 12,500mls.
With both bikes, I had several minor problems but no serious failures, so I am totally satisfied. I´m planning to keep the bikes several years as I´ve got a lot of used parts in store.

Donald Moeser, USA Finally broke the Honda habit and bought a BMW. It is a 2000 K1200 LTI with 14,000 miles. A Utopia Drivers backrest and Cee Bailey tall windscreen has been ordered, and am considering PIAA 1100x lights. Don't get much time to ride, but when I do I travel the solitary backroads of the Shawnee Forest in S. Illinois or the Missouri Ozarks. It's not exactly the German Alps, but it will have to do.

Rob Nacken, Netherlands I bought my K75, model `90, in June, 2002. My previous bike was a `82 GS650GT which was also shaft drive equipped. The K75 has got 12V socket, hard bags, heat grips and crash bars. I added a luggage rack and a Hella horn. I ride my bike daily and have much fun.

Alan Goody, Australia I've owned two K100's both of them being '83 Models. My current K100 has only travelled 111,485k's and the Engine Number is 104EA 4083 2562, Chassis (Frame) Number is 0002652K100, I haven't had this bike from new but from what I have worked out it is original with two exceptions, as you will see by the photo, it has a RT fairing & panniers fitted (Australian Police type). The bike is still getting good K's/litre, averages 17 - 19K's/Litre which is not bad for a bike of it's age, it was imported into Australia 10/83. My wife can I find a BMW quite comfortable and she has been known to fall asleep on the back quite often. The handling of these bikes are extremely good for cornering, they lay over very well for two up riding.

William (Bill) Schaal), USA This is my 1985 K100 RS. I painted it pearl white after owning it a few years. The photo setting is the Valley of the Gods in southeastern Utah. The photo was taken by my father who was riding his 1992 K75 RT. We have toured most of the United States.

Jan van Deijnen, Netherlands K100RT `96, imported from California, purchased with 35,000mls, now the mileage reads 65.000mls, equipped with Touring- and Citybags, Topcases with 22 and 35 litres, tankbag, Nivomat, King & Queen comfort seat. Re-painted in red metallic last winter, new windshield (bigger version, UK made). I´m riding my bike the whole year without any problems.

Klaus Klement, Germany This is a picture of my K100LT. Its first registration was 04/85 and I bought the bike in 1995 with 26,000mls and three previous owners. By now, the mileage is 44,000. Three weeks ago, I renewed the painting (silver blue) and added crash bars. The oil pump had to be replaced at 37,000mls. Apart from this, the bike is original and in a good shape. The fuel consumption is about 6.5 litres/100 km.

Detlef Mergner, Germany After 18 years without motorcycles I finally owned another bike (and an amazing one !).I did not looked for a BMW but felt in love with it. K 75 C, first registration 04/86, 23,500mls. I´ll try to warm up with my bike. Unfortunally, I am not the tallest one, so I have to lower the seat.
