I would like to present to you a photo of my K bike.

Please add my 1990 K75 Standard to your fine gallery.  The bike has an K100RS front end and Paralever.  The handling is extremely neutral, and the 2.80:1 final ratio does not affect performance at all. The bike runs very smooth and at 80mph turns only just over 5000rpm. It is a joy to ride. Full details at  http://home.earthlink.net/~lrome45/bmws . I am adding a Works Performance shock and Epco exhaust. I own three K75's all of which are undergoing updating, and two 97 K1100LT's, one in immaculate condition, the other about to become a unique but classy Standard.

This is my 2001 K1200RS with my son on it. For the moment it is equipped with handprotectors and a windshield from a GT. I'm planning to put it it back in its original shape because of the looks. In reality I did not have the chance to ride because I'm recovering from an accident with my R1100S. So I'm counting the days...

After my first '90er K100RS 4V (see gallery 2002), which now has
86,000mls on the saddle, I bought a '94er K1100RS with 29,000mls recently. I bought it as a crashed motorcycle and rebuilt it in 'Last Edition' style. WhitePower springs in front and back and a higher bar, riding is completely different than the K100.

Axel Werner, Germany
Built 1986, first registration in 1987, appr. 35000-40000km (odo has been failing). I'm a late newbie, with 44 years, beginning with an '81 SR500, not bad, and now 21.5years later the K! Exactly fitting to me, enough power! I had a 3-week test drive on a Suzuki GSX750R with 116hps in exchange with my SR: Very hot on ramp to the motorway, but in general.. no thanks! The 75hps of my K are carrying me to everywhere, offer lots of fun and are easy to handle. More than that, the driving licence is way less endangered as one can drive the K, in opposite to this Suzi, in a normal way without aching back, knees or wrists.

This is my beauty, a 1984 K100 RS. She's mine since 5 years now. It was my fathers bike before, but she needed younger blood on her sadle. Recently I have replaced the standard exhaust for a handmade one. The result is a much more muscular sound which, a bike as this deserves! I also added the optional part of the fairing which is situated underneath the engine. She has rode about 84,000mls until now and no problems ever occured. Powerful, friendly and now also a mean screaming sound when there's a big demand for horsepower, it's my first BMW after about three or four Japanese motorcycles, but this one is for life... I have a six months old son and sometimes I see him smiling to this pretty lady. That's a good start for a baby!

Michalis Beck, Greece
I bought this 1984 RT as a joke (€1500 in a terrible condition). Never
really liked these bikes, now I'm in love with it. Still needs many things
and money.
thanks for the hospitallity

BMW K100RS, slightly modified with new back and K1-muffler, only about 205,000mls, was registered on BMW for seven months then for 21 years with only one owner. Picture taken in Marseille

Bought my 90 model K100RT non ABS brakes 3 years ago and at the time it had 113,000mls on it. I have since replaced the BMW battery and replaced brushes in the starter motor, replaced the original date stamped brake discs rotors front and rear with 135,000mls. Change of Oil filter every 5000mls but otherwise it keeps on going no problems. Bike had a cassette/radio with BMW speakers mounted in dash and a CB
radio/intercom, which has now been upgraded to a stereo /cd player and UHF/AM CB radio, all connected through an Autocom system.  Built an aluminium trailer with esky to tow behind and colour matched to the bike which has a storage capacity of 540lts but weighs in at only 38.5kg and tows beautifully. I also made blue LED globes for the instrument panel which looks great at night Currently fitting BMW heated hand grips and mounted some driving lights, seeing that I have the benefit to ride all year round here in Oz and do a fair bit of night riding too.

Roger Hochstrasser, Switzerland
This is my first "big" motorcycle, a '86er K100 Basis, it has done
49,000mls so far. I bought it a year ago and now I'm the fourth owner. The homepage of www.flyingbrick.de animated me to buy that "flying brick". Regarding that it's almost twenty years old, it's still in good shape. The well engineered and long lasting technics as well as the outer shape persuade me more than ever.

I'm from Switzerland and would be happy if you'd put my K100 into your gallery. It'd be bad to salvage a K100, for this are not all parts original.

Radu Canciulescu, Romania
My name is Radu, I'm from Romania and I recently (1 week) bought a 1986 K100 RT on which I allready did about 310mls. I have been riding for about 10 years now but I have to say that this bike has made me fell totally in love with it. Congratulations on your web-site, that I find extremely helpfull. I found about it from a friend who owns a K100RS and is also a member on your web-site. Not to forget: you have also been visited from Romania! : ) Here's a picture with me and my baby: All the best and, as we say here, "Asfalt uscat!" ("Dry asphalt!")

Rolf Kuehl, Germany
This is my '84er K100RS. The machine ran 75,000mls so far. I did a complete restoration this year, the joy of riding may commence now.

Jacques, France
I live in Lyon near the french Alps and I have bought my K100 LT few weeks ago. I'm a novice with a BMW but not with motorcycle. My K100 have 56,000mls but seems new (see the picture) and it's a real pleasure to ride with it to discover a lot of region and country. I read with a big interest your web site and I understand all comments about K100 from users. Unfortunatly, I haven't used it a lot because there is a lot of snow outside that's why you can see, in the picture, my BMW parked and waiting for a better climatic conditions.

Stefan Berger, Germany
When I bought my K100LT with 61,000mls in 2001, I didn't knew what I'd be allowed to experience with this machine. Now are additional
19,000mls on the odo and we aren't tired at all. A perfect machine for travelling particularly with passenger.

Michael Hunter, Great Britain
This is my 85 K100RS the best bike that I have owned in over 30 years of riding. It has been kept in great condition by me and its previous owners, and even now has only covered 35,000 miles, the last 12,000 with me. It is mainly use for touring trips, visited Holland, Germany, Belgium and France last year and never missed a beat.  Not completely standard with higher bars and different seat but really comfortable for long distance work.

Volker Schmidt, Germany
Here you see a picture of my "three-quarters brick". I'm riding motorcycles for 24 years now, the last 12 of them with this K75S, '87 with 71,000mls. Since I have made some improvements on fork and brakes, I know that even with luggage and passenger you won't topple while curving, a great feeling! We prefer touring through Norway. I won't sell my "K" ever, maybe I get another one additionally.

Riccardo Rossini, Italy
I live in palmenriviera, Pietraligure. My K100RS-4V is a latest model, 1st regulation on 21 March 1994, the day of my 32' birthday! She's equipped with ABS, hard bags & topcase, additional instruments, heated grips, and -not least- BM949 Ohlins shock absorber.I ride with my K everyday, for job and for fun, all the year in every season.

Shabu Dedhar, Great Britain
Here is a picture of my K75 with an R100RS fairing fitted. This was a model created by Ongar Motorcycles in Essex, England, before they closed. I understand BMW were not too pleased, as they were yet to launch the K75S. Nevertheless, they made around 100 of them and I believe they are spread around Europe now. This is the perfect bike for me. It is very lightweight and has a reasonably low seat height. The top half of the fairing is standard R100RS, but the lowers were specially made to fit around the K engine. The previous owner made an excellent screen, slightly higher than standard, with a curve at the top and a slit towards the bottom. This works so well. I have great vision, hardly any wind or flies on me and no turbulence. Although the BMW dealers have tried to sell me new models such as the K1200GT, I still prefer mine. One day I may create a newer version with a modern K1100 or K1200 engine.
Hope you find it interesting!

I really like the information on your website, so would like to submit a
picture of my bike. 1996 K1100RS purchased March, 2005, with 22000 miles. Both previous owners kept it immaculate, but did not ride much.  I've added 1/2 the seller's total of two years in the first month. What a bike.  Looking forward to a long and happy life together.
Thanks for a great Site

I would appreciate if you would make this entry in the "gallery" on your
great site devoted to the greatest motorcycles ever made. This K1100LT has now been with me for almost a year. I bought it when it was 10 years old already, but in absolutely perfect condition. The previous owner never rode it in bad weather ! It then had 59.000 km. Today it has about 70.000. It has most options available, except for a radio. It is really a superb machine, with the best riding comfort I have ever experienced. Considering it's age, I should be able to enjoy it for another 10 years !
My previous bike was a K100RT, which was 18 years old. When I sold it, it had 145.000 km, and was still very good. I should have simply kept it, just for fun... I may want to add a K75 as a second bike.

Kim Koski, Finland
After many years searching I did found my (early years) dream bike, BMW K1 in 2002. I still remember when I did first time see an poster of one with the same blue/yellow colour. I'am the second owner of this bike
and until today it has 36 tkm in the glass. My K1 has frame number 6372968, produced 28/1989, n:o 2084 It has been ordered with full opinions, ABS, heat grips, fuel gauge, thermometer and four way flashers. I still have it's original guartee-, and service manual, service toolset and tyre fixing set. Above of the original opinions I have added the sidebacks, replaced side covers, rear flashes, front fender and rear shock absorber to Öhlins. All changes has been made using only new stock parts of K1 and K100 bikes. All the original parts has been stored unchanged. The bike can be rechanged to original shape in 3 hours. The bike is almost like new and I like ride it. There is an dirrerent touch on it compering to the new ones and i dont meet similar everyday.

Here is my October 1984 K100 RT. I aquired the bike in May 2003 as a
birthday present from my wife. The mileage was around 38000 when I bought the bike and so far we have done nearly 8000 miles together. The main use for the bike is a commute to work between Eastbourne and Newhaven which takes me though the beautiful Downland countryside of Beachy Head (which is where the bike is pictured). In 2004 we took a ride to the Le Mans 24 hour bike race which was done with great ease. I do most of the maintainance myself and so far the bike has not missed a beat. For a bike that is nearly 21 years old she is doing well and looks like she will enjoy plenty more!

Really good touring machine, which I intend keeping though the K100RS is to be joined by a K1200S (ordered for September).

Since May 2003 or 13,600mls we stay together. My K 1100 RS, build 1995. Actually, we have 52.000 km on the clock and no problems occur. Mainly I drive in the Berlin area, but at holiday we ride into northern direction in the sun.

Albert Klose, Germany
Since thirty years I am a biker. I tried nearly everything. Since ten years the bikes have got a BMW sign and I am a little happier. With a sidecar I discovered my K affinity. I had to change the complete engine and modified the shape. During 2002/2003, I rode 9,000 mls and was very pleased.
My wife called me “mad” because I looked for another K after so much work. Is a `97 K12 risky? Not at all! During the last season, we enjoyed 15,000 mls.

Paul Zittle, North Carolina/USA
This is my 1985 K100RS, with a fresh paint job for it's 20th birthday. I bought this one last May as a project, and put 10,000 miles on it while collecting parts for the restoration. This is my second 85 K100, so I know it will give me many more miles of trouble free service.
Keep it on two, but one's more fun.

Richard Haase, Canada
Here's my baby!  1985 K100 RT. 38000 miles, mint condition. Found it in Minnesota.  Finally back into biking after a 25 year hiatus.  Looking forward to spring, too bad our summers here are so short!

Clayton Dickison, Oregon/USA
Here's my 1993 K1100 LT.  I purchased it in May 2004, in Fresno California, at 34k miles (three previous owners!). In the last 6 months I've put 10k miles on it. Great bike!  It runs great, and almost  has to much power. I do have a slow leek in the front left fork, but everything else is top notch.
I'm an old Honda rider(CB750), but I've wanted this  BMW for the last 20+ years. Its a dream come true. :-)

Jim Brotherton, Netherlands
Bought this 1995 K1100RS May 2004 with 15,000 mls. First BMW that I have ever owned and know it will not be the last. Rides like a dream and turns heads where ever I go. Still getting use to BMW's way of mounting things on a motorcycle.

Th. van der Werff, Netherlands
Purchased in 1999 with 37,000 mls. Meanwhile, I changed the brake disks and re-painted it in dark red (a R1150RT colour) in January, 2005. Now it´s got 58,000 mls.

Hilko Belka, Germany
We bought this bike last september from a pensioner. It was built 5/93 and has done only 10,000mls. It looks like a new one. I guess that we´ll be very pleased with it.

Jack McNutt, Indiana/USA
This is my '85 K100RS, converted to a K100 after a crash took out the sexy Pichler Fairing she once wore. I bought ZoomZoom in '01. She turned over 100,000 Miles in October 2004. In 2003, we visited all 5 Great Lakes on a trip that included Quebec City in Canada. That same summer I rode ZoomZoom around the North Shore of Lake Superior on a separate trip.

Michael Gullery, California/USA
I have visited your 'Flying Brick' website and I would like to add my 1993 K1100RS to your picture gallery.
I purchased my K in December 1995 with 19,000 miles on the odometer. I am the second owner. It was in good condition with a computer light always on but that was an easy fix. I have traveled the western US on this bike and now have 72,000 miles on it. The driveshaft U-joint did break last year but fortunately did not cause an accident. I formerly had a K100 which I laid down and was demolished. My only mishap.
