K 75 about battery, wires and dust

  • Hi there again!

Today I have three questions for you :). Hope you are not bored with me yet.

FIrst of all, when I was removing ignition cover I found that one wire was attached to the green wire in a very simple way ( just knoted around). When i pulled out the cover it just went loose. This wire is shown on the pic.

Than i found out loose wire next to the battery. After short investigation it occured to me that this one and the front wire are the same. BUT after i removed the tank they both meet in half way and are attached to the other wire. It all looks home made and now i would like to make it in more proper way ( also i had some problem with engine cutting off - that was the reason of my investigation). Could you pease tell me what these two are for. As i remid myself the "battery" end wasnt attached to anything, but i might be wrong.
It is all shown on pics.

Another question is about all the stuff under the tank, it is very dusty after all these years and i thought about wipeing it out, but the easiest way it seems to me is flush it all with water. If the battery is unplugged, can i do that? Than i would leave it on the sun for a bit to make sure there is no water anywhere. whats your ways of getting rid of the dust near wires?

Last question is about battery itself - it is reccomended the 12 V and 20Ah battery for K75, but i bought it with 12V 10Ah, it all starts and works fine ( apart from disconecting sometimes for a minute or so like once every 50-60 km). To be honest I would rather spent money on something else if this is not so important. I ve already read that it might be bad for the battery, but can it damage the bike?

    Thanks in advance - Wojtek
