Re-installation of K75S fairing

  • I am looking for some detailed instructions - illustratons in relation to re-installing a fairing to the K75S. Clymer or Haynes do not offer great help on the subject:(

    Any alternative ideas-sources available?
    Thank you, Stavros.

  • Stavros,
Personally I wouldn't bother putting the original fairing back, its in too many pieces and they vibrate, against each other, granted it offers some if limited, however, it does not lend itself to headlight upgrades which can be limiting in modern day riding conditions.

If you want say a twin headlight job either adapt a fairing off another machine or go to Powerbronze http://www.powerbronze.co.uk/ or someone and upgrade you lighting at the same time.

But if you insist for originality purposes, there are three main mounting supports One on the left of the bike near the left hand side radiator hose , one is on the right hand side of the machine of the bike near the radiator pressure cap which resides under the petrol tank! the final main mount bolts into the headstock in a central position, the rest of the fairing after these just bolts together piecemeal, and a bolt at the front holds together the two halves of the fairing and sets up the position of the headlamp by threading into the black rectangular mounting fitting that secures the headlight, know that with the original fitting, you cannot have a headlight without the fairing!

    Cheers
