I had it out to clean the connections and replace the bracket. I bumped the needle and I felt resistance at around 40km/h. Now it will stick there when I ride. I don't think I was rough with it so I can't see how these two things are connected but is it possible that I bent something?

Try it again, lift the needle with a little fork, check the free turn of the axis and don't press to much to fix it again.
