K75S Fairing re-installation

  • A few days ago I decided to install back on my k75s the fairing which has been removed for a couple of years in an attempt to enjoy the naked version of the k75. I must admit that riding the bike on the highway even for short rides the bikini fairing makes a big difference. The process of re-installing the pieces was pretty straight forward except of the detail that relates to the joint between the upper front part of the fairing, the inner black cover and the side panel of the fairing.

The manuals both Clymers and Haynes and the OEM diagrams refer to a screw that fits from the inside out that I suspect it’s the one that I fitted the other way round and it’s the one shown in the my picture with the number (2).

Is this the right place for the right screw or I messed it up? From what I understand this point joints the front part of the fairing to the inner black cowl without fixing at this point the large lateral part of the fairing, (is this correct)?

Why it’s been asked to fit the screw (No 5 & No 4 on the diagram) from the inside out rather than the easier – opposite way through the hole behind the indicator, as I have done?

I also see a small hole on the side panel almost above a second hole on the front panel which I have marked on my photo with the number (1) . I am wondering if there is another screw that joints the two pieces together at this point or not.

Finally I don’t see where the rubber piece (No 8 on the diagram) should be fitted, any help?

    Thank you for your patience.
