Loose grub screw

• Hello!
I have the same issue on my K1100.The gear change lever free play is way too big, problems with clean gear change.
So I have two questions to You Brick Owners.

First is it possible to get to that little sucker screw without removing rear swingarm (removing final drive is a PITA for me)?
Second how to remove gear box without disassembling ABS II - I have enough of bleeding the system.
If you have any remarks or tips regarding such job (sic I was there 2 months ago while spline job) i.e. removing the gear box, opening it, I would be more then glad to read.

So I can't see the photos :(. The question is how to handle the battery and ABS tray. One have to remove ABS to unscrew it from gear box.

i put the link directly: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://picasaweb.google.com/101362608847811869860/Getriebeuberraschung" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://picasaweb.google.com/1013626088 ... erraschung</a><!-- m -->

Take away the Motronic, the battery and the rest of the ABS block try to wind up at the frame, get it off the way... You have to solve the problem as soon as possible, if the screw loosens and comes into the gear parts.... :o

• Hello!

I can see the topic after your advice - works as a charm :).
I'll start the job ASAP, even take a day off in work to do that. First I have to decide weather to change the engine output seal, gearbox input seal, and other misc one time use parts and screws in clutch area (is it necessary to change the screws in clutch housing?).
If I go for the seal replacement I have to wait for parts to arrive.
I am asking once again is it possible to do the gearbox opening without disconnecting rear swing arm from gear box?

Best regards!

• It is only the weight of the swing arm, which make your muscles burn. Only to fix the screw, there seems to be no need to get rid of the back parts... But to open the gear box, the input sided shield must be upside and hold on in this position !

The screws in the clutch housing are very weak, but if you can take them off without any damages you could use it again.
