Collection campaign for the "offstage Road kids"

It provides children and teenagers in Germany 1500-2500, these in the street eke out their existence often on the flight before abuse, maltreatment and neglect every year. The youngest of these children are 8 years old just once. A charitable Verein OFF-ROAD-KIDS e.V. helps these children to work out new prospects.

Wanted OFF-ROAD-KIDS e.V. to help and we followed end 2003 of a fund-raising campaign at which clapped-out, often also deficient mobile telephones were brought to recycling. By the end of 2007 each of these mobile telephones produced a donation of 5. euros for the offstage Road kids, after which the donation only became open 3. euros shortened. Unfortunately, the action completely ran out to the 31.12.2008 since dys recycling enterprise would transfer cent amounts to the organization even for a high-quality, intact equipment only since then.

Unfortunately, our mobile telephone fund-raising campaign had to be ended therefore after five extremely successful years.

The success was simply overwhelming!

In all of Germany, yes themselves in England and private persons and companies mobile telephones collected for the Netherlands for our action. Many untiring helpers help to carried our idea and build message desks or started actions of their own. Some examples:

Bayer vigorously equipped its field service with new mobile telephones the drug manufacturer in spring 2004. Since the enterprise also makes a commitment to the responsible behavior to the environment under the keyword "Responsible Care", the complete previous stock level of 361 equipment was brought to recycling about our action. Alone this produced a donation of 1805 euros. The support of Bayer goes on vigorously also in the subsequent years: The group gathers Germany-wide old mobile telephones in all branch offices again. Many thanks for this excellent engagement!

At once employees of the prosecuting attorney's office Hanover collected 1123 mobile telephones under the employees since 2003 and such considerable 5615 euros donation volumes obtained. The "café to the castle" turned up Detlev Seeger, owner in Altena with quite a number of equipment in the sidecar of its BMW team at our meetings year for year.

Manfred Straub collected 180 equipment, Klaus Watzata contributed 100 equipment, 175 mobile telephones came from RWTÜV Systems GmbH, 267 equipment of the Telecom shop marker,...it is difficult to list all donators one by one. Many of the donators had collected even in several places before and supported our collection just carton wise so. Donations were, of namely invoked also on the Internet

For the annual meetings of www. flyingbrick .de we respectively submitted our donation to Markus Seidel who conducts the organization and was honored with the Order of Merit for his merits 2003.

I would like to thank every particular quite cordially also in the name of Markus Seidel who accepted our donation personally, donated his mobile telephone to it for our action! Our common engagement was taken note of with great delight and also might be a signal for this that motorcyclists do not simply look away at problems. This setting is no more matter of course today already.

Chocolate candies for Flying Brick

A terrific idea had Peter de Haan, K1100LT driver from Duisburg. By hand the broadcast and television engineer manufactured delicious chocolate candies which were decorated with BMW motives. He starts innumerable test runs until the result satisfied him. The chocolate candies found at the unit price of euro quick sales at the Forumgemeinschaft. The proceeds went completely to the offstage Road kids.

We had opportunity to inspect the new building in bath scrawny home. Another twelve rooms will be available for teenagers here as of summer 2007.

We find it very a pity that the mobile telephone fund-raising campaign had to be ended meanwhile. Unfortunately, the overhead which stands behind such a collection stands, however, in no more relationship to the very low donation earnings which would be achievable since the beginning of 2009. So only still certain, marketable models are accepted and tempered depending on function by the Recycler meanwhile. For a working Nokia 6310 i, at present, all of 90 cents would be transferred to the organization. We nevertheless look back at an extremely impressive result which got possible due to the engagement of many single persons:

With 25.000 euro we achieved together the largest individual donation which ever reached Verein Off-Road-Kids e.V. by an individual initiative!
